Why I started Decorati.com.

Shane Reilly started her design career in San Francisco, as the go-to designer for successful Internet entrepreneurs looking for high-style in Internet time. She eventually launched her bi-coastal design firm with a second office in New York. Shane’s clients relied on her to not only meet their aggressive deadlines, but deliver homes with a fresh, contemporary, and genuinely comfortable feel. Her work led her to be selected for prestigious events such as the San Francisco Decorators Showcase house, the NY Junior League Walking Tour, and DIFFA’s Dining by Design.

Shane discovered she enjoyed discussing how interior designers progress from inspiration to execution. She interviewed eighty designers and authored a book, Inspired High-End Interior Design.

Frustrated with the lack of online resources for design, in 2007 Shane launched Decorati.com, the first aggregate search site exclusively for trade-only interior design products and interior designer portfolios. Gilt Groupe purchased Decorati in March 2011.

Shane is considered a thought leader in the evolution of the interior design industry. Shane has been featured in Fast Company, Martha Stewart Radio, Interior Design Magazine, The New York Times, Traditional Home, TechCrunch, Silicon Alley Insider, Financial Times, Bloomberg Market, Luxe, California Home & Design, Spaces Magazine, NBC and HGTV. Shane is a frequent speaker at interior design events across the country and has been a guest writer for Forbes.com.
